District VP: Mark Hunt, Tomball, TX Ph:
District 6 is one of the largest districts in the country. We have a very active and innovative bunch. Competition is strong here.
Please check out the Calendar Section for the 2010' D6 contest schedule. Make sure you click on the List Size box and set it to 20 to see all the events in D6 in the coming season. If you have a flyer for your contest that you would like posted as a link on the calendar, please contact me.

District 6 Shirts - Please see the June issue of the K-factor for an article on NSRCA logo's. We are working on some new ideas and we can easily incorporate these into a D6 shirt or use the existing design (below) if there is sufficient interest in buying shirts. To this point in the season, I have not had significant interest in doing so.

District Champ points formula for 2009:
The intent of this points system is to reward promotion of pattern locally by recognizing those that participate often and fly consistently well. The overall goal is to develop leaders, encourage new participation, and create a sense of fun and pride in our district.
Points are accumulated at a contest based on the position you finished in and how many people you beat.
1. Your best 5 performances are counted and two contests can be out of district. If Nats is used as the out of district, the points will be awarded similar to a local contest for placement, but with a cap on the maximum # of pilots outscored (10):
Max. for 1st at the Nats - 7pts.+10 (max. # of pilots outscored) = 17pts.
Max. for 2nd at the Nats - 5 + 10 = 15pts.
Max. for 3rd at the Nats - 3 + 10 = 13pts.
Max. for 4th at the Nats - 2 + 10 = 12pts.
Max. for 5th at the Nats - 1 + 10 = 11pts.
****For this special case (Nats) you do not need to place in the top 5 to earn points for the number of people beat.
Max. for 6th or below at the Nats (finishing ahead of 10 other pilots) = 10pts.
2. NSRCA membership is required before the beginning of the first competition date of the Nats.
3. Points accumulation will end and the winners will be announced after the final contest of the season as listed on Contest Calendar.
4. There will be no district championship meet that carries double points because we haven’t solved the problem of making a single contest accessible to all, or a way of combining results of a collection of contests.
5. Points are awarded through 5th place only. The burden on the points keeper is too great otherwise.
6. The pilot is responsible for delivering out-of-district results to me for contests they want counted. It will only count if I receive the final resultsfor the entire class flown, not just your finishing place. Sorry, contests held outside of the continental U.S. may not be used.

- The pilot who attended the most in-district contests during that season.
- Points winner at the last contest both pilots attended together. If this doesn’t work, go to the previous head to head contest, until exhausted.
- The larger number of people (in the four counted contests) that the pilot beat.
- If both pilots are at the last contest of the year, a one round flyoff.
- Declare a tie and I have to beg the NSRCA president for forgiveness.
