Welcome to the 2025 OCMA Nats Prep Contest

We will be using a special format this year to allow for worry-free flying and maximum focus on preparing for the NATS.  We will run a single flight line, no matter how many contestants we have.  We will fly Sportsman, Intermediate, Advanced, Masters (with a twist), F3A Silver, and FAI P/F.  We are not currently planning on incorporating EDF in this event due to the single flight line and additional Masters activity.

$40 entry, Sportsman $30, Juniors Free.  Lunch will be available for a Fee.  As usual, the club takes no fee for this event and all proceeds are donated to the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC).

We will be trying out the idea of a single unknown for the Masters class on Sunday.  The idea of Masters including an unknown in the finals is being tested in other districts this year and may be included in the NATS this year.  The unknown will not be overly difficult and will be targeted towards gaining experience flying an unknown in contest conditions.  Time permitting, on Saturday afternoon we will have a short clinic on how to prepare for flying and judging an unknown.

As usual, we will have overnight camping available for up to 5 vehicles.  We can accomodate more, but they will be in the overflow lot adjacent to the field.  Contact me, Steve Hannah shannah1806@gmail.com as soon as you know you want to grab a spot.

Keep watching your emails for news on this event.  We are running this in July this year so we could have issues with Red Flag fire conditions, excess Fire Authority Helicopter Practice, or unexpected low turnout numbers.

I'll keep you posted as the date approaches.
