The Bear Mountain Flyers R/C Club is pleased to present the 2023 So. Cal. Classic Pattern and EDF Pattern Championships, Saturday, October 28th 2023 at the Leon Robison Field in Arvin, California. Arvin is the home to year round great flying weather, coupled with wide open unrestricted airspace. The facility is second to none, with full shaded pits with steel tables for aircraft assembly and maintenance. There is electric power for charging, water, and a well manicured grass infield that makes for an inviting, pleasant atmosphere that allows the contestants to focus on enjoying the event. The Bear Mountain Flyers is a competition oriented club intended for accomplished pilots of all disciplines, and the field reflects that.

The field will be open for practice in the days preceding the contest. If you have an RV, camping is available at the field. Lodging is available nearby for those who would like to come out early. We are going to fly all of the So. Cal. Classic Pattern classes (Pre-Novice, Novice, Advanced, Expert and Masters) as well as both EDF Pattern classes (Sportsman and Expert). These EDF patterns are non-turnaround, flow in the same manner as the classic patterns, I.E. one maneuver per pass.

Come early and get some practice in the morning. Pilots meeting and group photo will be at 8:30 AM, and first round starts at (AM sharp. We will fly four rounds of all classes. Entry fee is $30 for Classic or EDF (single class) or $40 for both Classic and EDF. Lunch shall be provided as part of your entry. Awards to 3^rd place in each class as well as Season Champion for each class.
